Sumatra Barat Food Prices Friday (January 10th): Salt Up, Rice Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (10/1/2025) at 08.44 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), premium rice, whole garlic cloves, red chilies, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken, SPHP rice, shallots, mackerel, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase of Rp2,650 (17.39%) to Rp17,890 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of farmer-level corn saw the sharpest decrease of Rp1,200 (20.69%) to Rp4,600 per kg.

6. Whole Garlic Cloves: Rp42,950 per kg (up 6.05%)
7. Broiler Chicken: Rp38,340 per kg (down 0.52%)
8. Shallots: Rp37,420 per kg (down 0.35%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp34,290 per kg (down 4.4%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp31,500 per kg (up 4.55%)
