Food Prices in Central Java, Wednesday (January 8th): What's the Price of Onions?

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (8/1/2025) at 11:53 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, broiler chicken meat, red chilies, red cayenne peppers, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as garlic cloves, premium rice, pure beef, granulated sugar, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, jumping by Rp380 (3.49%) to Rp11,260 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most, by Rp70 (1.28%) to Rp5,390 per kg.
