Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Rice, Sugar, and Egg Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (31/10/2024) at 12:15 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, chicken eggs, farmer-level corn, red chilies, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as curly red chilies, shallots, simple packaged cooking oil, bulk cooking oil, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of milkfish increased the most, by Rp2,630 (8.49%) to Rp33,610 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of shallots decreased the most, by Rp1,000 (3.54%) to Rp27,260 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on October 31, 2024, at 12:15 WIB.
