The Investment Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded investment realization of Rp307.8 trillion in the third quarter of 2022. This investment realization grew by 1.9% compared to the second quarter of 2022 (quarter-to-quarter/qtoq) or grew by 42.1% compared to the third quarter of 2021 (year-on-year/yoy).
Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia stated that this investment realization consisted of Domestic Investment, contributing 45.1% or Rp138.9 trillion. This figure grew by 22.5% year-on-year (yoy) but decreased slightly by 0.05% quarter-on-quarter (qtoq).
Next, Foreign Investment (PMA) amounted to Rp168.9 trillion, contributing 54.9% of the total investment realization. This achievement grew by 63.6% yoy and increased by 3.5% qtoq.
Bahlil said that the realization was sourced from the online Investment Activity Report (LKPM) based on the Online Single Submission (OSS) system based on the Job Creation Law.
"So it's more transparent and accountable, because companies directly report and we directly provide assistance," said Bahlil, quoted from a press conference on Monday (24/10).
Based on the business sector, the largest investment realization in the third quarter of 2022 went to the basic metal industry, metal goods, excluding machinery and equipment, with a total value of Rp44 trillion.
Regionally, West Java absorbed the largest investment realization in the third quarter of 2022, namely Rp44.9 trillion or 14.6% of the total investment. This was followed by DKI Jakarta and Riau at Rp28.4 trillion and Rp27.5 trillion respectively.
Cumulatively, the total investment realization from January to September 2022 reached Rp892.4 trillion, up 35.3% year-on-year (yoy). This figure has reached 74.4% of the 2022 investment target of Rp1,200 trillion.
"Insya Allah, I am optimistic that the investment target of Rp1,200 trillion can be achieved," said Bahlil.
