The Ministry of Finance reports that state revenue realization in the State Budget (APBN) has reached Rp2,035.6 trillion as of September 2023. This realization is equivalent to 82.6% of this year's target of Rp2,463 trillion.
State revenue realization in September of last year was Rp1,974.9 trillion. "This means that (September 2023 state revenue) grew by 3.1% year-on-year (yoy)," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati in a press conference on the APBN Kita, Wednesday (25/10/2023).
Sri Mulyani explained that tax revenue remained the largest contributor to state revenue as of September 2023, reaching Rp1,387.8 trillion. This realization grew by 5.9% year-on-year (yoy) and has reached 80.8% of this year's APBN target of Rp1,718 trillion.
Furthermore, customs and excise revenue realization was recorded at Rp195.6 trillion, equivalent to 64.5% of this year's target of Rp303.2 trillion. However, this figure contracted by 15.8% year-on-year (yoy).
"(The decrease in customs and excise realization) is due to the decline in global commodity prices and policies to control the consumption of excisable goods, although domestic economic activity remains strong," said Sri Mulyani.
Then, non-tax state revenue (PNBP) realization has reached Rp451.5 trillion or increased by 4.6% year-on-year (yoy). This realization is equivalent to 102.3% of the APBN target of Rp441.4 trillion.
"PNBP realization has reached the APBN target amid commodity price fluctuations," said Sri Mulyani.
Meanwhile, state expenditure realization as of September 2023 was recorded at Rp1,967.9 trillion, growing 2.8% (yoy) compared to the same period last year, which was Rp1,913.7 trillion.
The high realization of revenue compared to state expenditure resulted in Indonesia's APBN recording a surplus of Rp67.7 trillion in September 2023. This surplus is equivalent to 0.32% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
