Clothing and Footwear Inflation in Bekasi City, February: -0.04%

Clothing and footwear component prices in Bekasi City in February decreased by 0.04%. Although this figure shows a decrease, it remains higher than the previous month's decrease of 0.16%. Among the eight inflation groups measured in this area, the clothing and footwear group contributed -0.04% to regional inflation.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that the consumer price index (CPI) for clothing and footwear in Bekasi City was at 104.01 in February 2024, lower than the previous month's 104.05.

Compared to the same month last year, clothing and footwear inflation has decreased by 10.61% (year-on-year/YoY). Compared to the beginning of the year, prices of inflation-contributing components in Bekasi City have grown by -0.04% (year-to-date/YTD).

Based on BPS survey data from February 2024, these 11 inflation groups ranked seventh compared to other subgroups.

The following are the sub-group inflation rates for clothing and footwear measured by BPS in Bekasi City for February:

* Clothing and footwear group: -0.04%

Compared to 104 other regencies/cities, the highest clothing and footwear inflation occurred in Surakarta City, down 0.3% with a CPI of 102.55, and the lowest occurred in Cirebon City at 0.02% with a CPI of 101.83. Bekasi City ranked 86th.

As announced by BPS earlier this month, inflation in February 2024 was 0.37% month-on-month and -7.52% year-on-year. Although higher than the previous month's inflation, this monthly inflation rate was not as high as the same period last year, which was recorded at 5.47%.
