Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: Rice, Sugar, and Chili Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Sunday (4/8/2024) at 16.13 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), simple packaged cooking oil, pure beef, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as garlic bulbs, chicken eggs, fine iodized salt, shallots, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices increased the most, by Rp4,570 (8.65%) to Rp57,420 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of garlic bulbs decreased the most sharply, by Rp620 (1.58%) to Rp38,690 per kg.
