Transportation Costs in Bengkulu City Increased by 0.26% in May

In May, the price of components contributing to passenger transportation inflation in Bengkulu City was 0.26%. This figure is lower than the previous month's 10.04%. Among the 10 inflation groups measured in this region, the transportation group contributed 0.35% to regional inflation.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that the consumer price index (CPI) for transportation in Bengkulu City was 118.23 in May 2024, higher than the previous month's 117.92.

Compared to the same month last year, transportation inflation reached 1.93% (year on year/yoy). Compared to the beginning of the year, the prices of components contributing to inflation in Bengkulu City have grown by 4.23% (year to date/ytd).

Compared to 11 other groups, this inflation group ranked fifth.

Compared to 109 other regencies/cities, the highest transportation inflation occurred in Serang City, down 13.61% with a CPI of 111.41, and the lowest occurred in Yogyakarta City, down 4.69% with a CPI of 113.42. Bengkulu City ranked 13th.

BPS recorded May 2024 inflation at 0.03% monthly and -7.38% annually. Although lower than the previous month's inflation, this monthly inflation rate is not as high as the same period last year, which was recorded at four percent.
