Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chicken Meat, Oil, and Salt Prices Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (4/9/2025) at 12:11 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 10 increased and 12 decreased.

Commodities with price increases included Minyakita, packaged cooking oil, packaged wheat flour, SPHP rice, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as broiler eggs, consumption sugar, large red chilies, broiler meat, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Curly red chilies saw the highest increase of Rp2,567 (4.35%) to Rp61,613 per kg. Meanwhile, large red chilies experienced the deepest decrease of Rp2,578 (4.67%) to Rp52,636 per kg.

Below is the complete list of prices for 24 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on September 4, 2025, at 12:11 PM WIB.

6. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp46,425 per kg (up 2.77%)
7. Shallots: Rp41,733 per kg (down 2.63%)

9. Milkfish: Rp40,000 per kg (stable)
