Current Food Prices in the Yogyakarta Special Region: Sugar Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in Yogyakarta Special Region today are observed to be lower compared to yesterday.

Based on the food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Thursday (16/5/2024) at 15.06 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 6 commodities increased in price and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price are granulated sugar, simple packaged cooking oil, medium-grain rice, chicken eggs, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, premium rice, bulk wheat flour, milkfish, and red chili peppers decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Granulated sugar experienced the highest price increase of Rp220 (1.26%) to Rp17,710 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers saw the lowest price decrease of Rp1,710 (5.39%) to Rp29,990 per kg.
