Not only does the Mouawad 1001 Nights Diamond Purse hold the title of the world's most expensive bag, but it also holds the world record for the most expensive bag since 2011. This heart-shaped handbag is made of 18-karat gold and features 4,517 diamonds.

The Hermes Kelly Rose Gold comes in second place with a selling price of US$2 million. This bag is a collaborative product between Hermes and jeweler Pierce Hardy. In third place are the Hermes Birkin Bag by Ginza Tanaka and the Hermes Chaine’d Ancre Bag, both priced at US$1.4 million.

Other handbags on the list of the world's most expensive include the Lana Marks Cleopatra Clutch (US$400,000), the Niloticus Crocodile Himalaya Birkin (US$379,000), the Chanel “Diamond Forever” Handbag (US$261,000), the Fuchsia Diamond-Studded Hermes Birkin (US$222,000), the Hermes Exceptional Collection Shiny Rouge H Porosus Crocodile 30 cm Birkin Bag (US$203,150), and the Blue Crocodile Hermes Birkin Handbag (US$150,000).
