Current Food Prices in East Java: Egg and Salt Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be higher compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (4/6/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 14 commodities increased in price and 6 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, milkfish, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), simple packaged cooking oil, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as mackerel, granulated sugar, red chilies, bulk cooking oil, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) saw the highest price increase of Rp2,970 (24.75%), reaching Rp14,970 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies saw the lowest decrease of Rp1,910 (4.86%), reaching Rp37,420 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 20 food commodities in East Java according to Bapanas as of June 4, 2024, at 08.01 WIB.

6. Milkfish: Rp34,000 per kg (up 8.31%)
7. Mackerel: Rp32,000 per kg (down 3.09%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,460 per kg (up 0.76%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp27,500 per kg (up 0.36%)
10. Red Chili: Rp26,980 per kg (down 1.17%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,000 per liter (up 2.41%)
