Sumatera Selatan Food Prices Week of January 5th: Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (5/1/2025) at 09.44 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are milkfish, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), broiler chicken, bulk cooking oil, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as SPHP rice, skipjack tuna, granulated sugar, medium rice, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies experienced the highest price increase of Rp4,230 (7.33%) to Rp61,970 per kg. Meanwhile, bulk wheat flour experienced the sharpest price decrease of Rp490 (5.61%) to Rp8,240 per kg.

6. Broiler Chicken: Rp37,350 per kg (up 4.36%)
7. Mackerel: Rp35,370 per kg (down 0.08%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,570 per kg (down 1.69%)
9. Milkfish: Rp27,540 per kg (up 3.49%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp26,060 per kg (down 0.95%)
