Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Prices of Oil, Sugar, and Chilies Drop

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (21/7/2024) at 09:49 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are Indian mackerel, iodized fine salt, garlic bulbs, skipjack tuna, and red chili peppers.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, pure beef, SPHP rice, bulk wheat flour, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase of Rp1,510 (5.46%) to Rp29,170 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most sharply by Rp330 (6.19%) to Rp5,000 per kg.
