North Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Rise, Other Chili Prices Fall (Sunday, December 31, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (31/12/2023) at 13:58 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, iodized fine salt, pure beef, simple packaged cooking oil, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as Indian mackerel, premium rice, farmer-level corn, milkfish, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp11,590 (20.09%) to Rp69,280 per kg. The price of milkfish saw the largest decrease, falling Rp17,500 (67.91%) to Rp8,270 per kg.
