East Java Food Price Update Today: Onion Prices Rise, Fish Prices Fall (Friday, November 17, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 12:26 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased.

Shallots saw the highest increase, jumping 3.86% or Rp940 to Rp25,290 per kg.

Next, iodized fine salt and farmer-level corn increased by 3.62% or Rp350 to Rp10,020 per kg and 2.03% or Rp130 to Rp6,530 per kg, respectively.

The price of Indian mackerel increased by Rp660 or 1.95% to Rp34,570 per kg, the price of packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) increased by Rp170 or 1.39% to Rp12,370 per kg, and the price of granulated sugar increased by Rp220 or 1.39% to Rp16,100 per kg.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, broiler chicken, bulk wheat flour, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of skipjack tuna decreased by 5.89% or Rp1,930 to Rp30,850 per kg, the lowest price decrease today in East Java.

The price of broiler chicken was recorded at Rp33,940 per kg, down 0.96%, the price of bulk wheat flour decreased to Rp10,020 per kg from Rp10,100 per kg, and the price of simple packaged cooking oil decreased by Rp70 to Rp16,020 per liter.
