Sumatera Selatan Food Price Update Today: Chili, Cooking Oil, and Beef Prices Down (Tuesday, December 5, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (5/12/2023) at 10:40 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, bulk wheat flour, shallots, dry soybean (import), and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as iodized fine salt, mackerel, shallot bulbs, chicken eggs, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase of Rp930 (3.14%) to Rp30,580 per kg. Iodized fine salt had the lowest price decrease of Rp380 (3.47%) to Rp10,580 per kg.

6. Shallots: Rp30,580 per kg (up 3.14%)
7. Chicken Meat: Rp29,940 per kg (up 0.54%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp28,300 per kg (down 0.88%)
9. Milkfish: Rp28,200 per kg (down 2.12%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,450 per kg (down 0.04%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp16,860 per kg (up 0.18%)
