Low-Quality Rice Prices in East Kalimantan Are the Highest Nationally (Wednesday, May 10, 2023)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded the average daily price of low-quality grade II rice (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces at Rp 8,678.57 per kg, as of Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Overall, the average this week decreased compared to the previous week's average of Rp 9,925 per kg.

The daily price of low-quality grade II rice in modern markets in East Kalimantan was the highest in Indonesia at Rp 14,400 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of low-quality grade II rice in this province is higher, previously recorded at Rp 12,800 per kg.

Meanwhile, in North Sumatra's modern markets, low-quality grade II rice was sold at Rp 13,600 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Following in third place, the price of low-quality grade II rice in West Papua was Rp 13,400 per kg, North Kalimantan Rp 12,450 per kg, and Bangka Belitung Islands Rp 12,400 per kg.

Meanwhile, six provinces had low-quality grade II rice prices below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for low-quality grade II rice were West Sumatra, West Kalimantan, and North Maluku.
