Local White Sugar Prices in Traditional Markets, May 2024-2025

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets in the Yogyakarta Special Region province is recorded at Rp17,900. This price is unchanged compared to the previous day and also in the last week.

Compared to the price 30 days ago, the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets has decreased from the previously recorded Rp18,000.

Meanwhile, the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets in Yogyakarta over the past three months has increased by 4.37% from the previously recorded price of Rp17,150.

The record high for the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in January 2022 with an increase of 15.69%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in May 2020 with a decrease of -6.8%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in Yogyakarta show six commodities decreased and 17 others increased. The basic commodities with decreased prices are: Daily Fresh Layer Chicken Eggs in Traditional Markets by Province, Daily Chicken Eggs in Traditional Markets by Province, Daily Granulated Sugar in Traditional Markets by Province, Daily Chicken Meat in Traditional Markets by Province, Daily Fresh Chicken Meat in Traditional Markets by Province, and Daily Local Granulated Sugar in Traditional Markets by Province.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to price developments over the past month in the Yogyakarta Special Region province:
