Latest West Sumatra Food Prices: Chili Prices Rise, Salt Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Saturday (19/10/2024) at 09.01 WIB, out of 19 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, bulk cooking oil, dry soybean (import), skipjack tuna, and Indian mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, medium rice, farmer-level corn, garlic cloves, and broiler chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp9,680 (25.51%) to Rp47,630 per kg. Farmer-level corn saw the sharpest price drop, down by Rp620 (11.44%) to Rp4,800 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 19 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on October 19, 2024, at 09.01 WIB.

2. Indian Mackerel: Rp52,410 per kg (up 15.01%)
3. Skipjack Tuna: Rp47,630 per kg (up 25.51%)
4. Broiler Chicken: Rp38,620 per kg (up 9.53%)
5. Garlic Cloves: Rp38,460 per kg (down 0.05%)
6. Curly Red Chili: Rp34,820 per kg (up 13.98%)
7. Red Onion: Rp29,810 per kg (up 4.01%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp27,790 per kg (down 2.59%)
9. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,990 per liter (up 1.75%)
10. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,870 per kg (down 0.89%)
11. Premium Rice: Rp17,310 per kg (down 0.75%)
12. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp15,270 per liter (up 1.66%)
13. Fine Iodized Salt: Rp14,610 per kg (down 10.37%)
