The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reported that the realization of spending by ministries/institutions (K/L) in the first semester of 2024 reached Rp487.4 trillion. This figure is up 16.82% year-on-year (yoy) compared to the same period last year, which realized Rp417.2 trillion.
The realization of K/L spending in the first half of this year is equivalent to 44.7% of the 2024 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) target of Rp1,090.2 trillion.
This increase is influenced by increased infrastructure spending, an increase in the number of recipients of the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) assistance; infrastructure in the defense and security sector; salary increases for civil servants/TNI/Polri; payment of the 13th salary and THR with 100% performance allowance; and the 2024 General Election.
The Ministry of Defense is recorded as the K/L with the largest spending realization in the first semester of 2024. The ministry, headed by Prabowo Subianto, has spent Rp65.3 trillion, or 46.9% of the 2024 APBN allocation.
This budget was used for the procurement of Alpung, KRI, KAL, and land/sea combat vehicles; procurement of combat vehicles; procurement/replacement of aircraft; and the procurement of strategic defense equipment.
In second place is the Indonesian National Police (Polri), with K/L spending realization of Rp61.2 trillion, or 52.1% of this year's APBN allocation.
