Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (18/12/2024) at 15.39 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 10 commodities increased in price and 11 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, granulated sugar, bulk cooking oil, garlic cloves, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, iodized fine salt, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), milkfish, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The commodity with the highest price increase was red chili peppers, up Rp2,280 (6.78%) to Rp35,920 per kg. The sharpest price decrease was shallots, down Rp880 (2.82%) to Rp30,330 per kg.
