Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down (Wednesday, December 27, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (27/12/2023) at 13:53 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 14 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), pure beef, broiler chicken, bulk cooking oil, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, shallots, simple packaged cooking oil, red chilies, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices increased the most, by Rp9,160 (26.44%) to Rp43,800 per kg. Shallots saw the lowest price decrease, by Rp1,060 (3.07%) to Rp33,440 per kg.
