Today's Food Prices, December 12, in West Sumatra: Onion and Red Chili Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

According to data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Necessities Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Friday (December 12, 2025) at 6:15 PM WIB, out of 16 commodities, 4 increased and 1 decreased.

The commodities with increased prices are red onion, curly red chili, large red chili, and Honan garlic.

Meanwhile, only red cayenne pepper decreased compared to yesterday's price.

Large red chili surged the highest by Rp8,000 (11.11%) to Rp80,000 per kg. Red cayenne pepper, on the other hand, experienced the deepest drop of Rp1,111 (1.37%) to Rp79,889 per kg.

6. Red Onion: Rp40,542 per kg (up 0.21%)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp32,500 per kg (up 0.17%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,486 per kg (stable)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp21,319 per liter (stable)
10. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp17,889 per kg (stable)
