Indonesia's Food Prices on Monday (December 23rd): Chili Prices Up, Cooking Oil Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Monday (23/12/2024) at 10:52 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 14 commodities increased in price and 5 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, red chilies, mackerel, simple packaged cooking oil, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as fine iodized salt, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), bulk cooking oil, granulated sugar, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,950 (4.12%) to Rp49,240 per kg. Bulk cooking oil experienced the sharpest price drop, falling Rp180 (1.03%) to Rp17,310 per liter.
