Sumatera Selatan Food Prices Tuesday (June 11th): Rice and Sugar Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be lower compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (11/6/2024) at 08.37 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include garlic bulbs, iodized fine salt, simple packaged cooking oil, red chilies, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, medium rice, dry soybean (import), granulated sugar, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel prices surged the highest by Rp2,290 (7.27%) to Rp33,770 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most by Rp480 (8.76%) to Rp5,000 per kg.
