The Indonesian Financial Audit Agency (BPK) found that Rp195 billion (approximately US$13 million) in Kartu Jakarta Pintar (KJP) Plus and Kartu Jakarta Mahasiswa Unggul (KJMU) funds were idle in bank accounts.

The BPK assessed that this issue of idle funds was influenced by the protracted handling of failed transfers to recipient accounts.

* Instructing the Head of the Education Agency to return funds dormant in recipient accounts due to failed distribution from 2013 to 2020 to the regional treasury.
* Conducting reconciliation with PT Bank DKI to create a valid and up-to-date master database of all KJP Plus and KJMU recipients.
* Instructing the Head of the Education Agency to immediately return the KJP Plus and KJMU balance dormant in escrow accounts from 2013 to 2020 to the regional treasury and setting a deadline for completion.
* Closing escrow accounts from 2013 to 2021.
* Appointing a special officer to monitor the disbursement of KJP Plus and KJMU funds by PT Bank DKI.
