Today's Food Prices (04/3) in South Sumatra: Bird's Eye Chili Rises, Chicken Meat Falls

Several food commodity prices in South Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) at 17:13 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 2 commodities decreased.

Commodities that saw price increases include shallots, curly red chili, beef rump, loose granulated sugar, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, prices of some commodities such as large red chili and broiler chicken meat decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red bird's eye chili prices rose the most by Rp1,423 (2.65%) to Rp55,056 per kg. Meanwhile, broiler chicken meat prices fell the most by Rp304 (0.82%) to Rp36,794 per kg.

Below is the complete list of prices for 16 food commodities in South Sumatra according to SP2KP Kemendag on March 4, 2026 at 17:13 WIB.

5. Shallots: Rp36,039 per kg (up 0.16%)
6. Honan Garlic: Rp33,729 per kg (up 0.62%)
7. Large Red Chili: Rp32,744 per kg (down 0.47%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp29,196 per kg (up 1.71%)
9. Packaged Premium Palm Cooking Oil: Rp19,604 per liter (stable)
10. Loose Granulated Sugar: Rp17,289 per kg (up 0.42%)
11. Loose Palm Cooking Oil: Rp16,825 per liter (stable)
12. Minyakita: Rp15,700 per liter (stable)
