Top 5 Source Countries of Foreign Investment in Indonesia, First Semester 2025

According to a report by the Indonesian Investment Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), foreign direct investment (FDI) realization in Indonesia reached Rp432.6 trillion in the first half of 2025.

This figure represents 45.9% of total investment, while the remaining 54.1% came from domestic investment.

In the first half of this year, Singapore was the largest source of foreign investment in Indonesia, with a value of US$8.8 billion, equivalent to 32.4% of total FDI inflow.

"Singapore has been dominating for quite some time, especially considering the increasingly strong and close ties between ASEAN countries, with frequent visits from heads of state," said Investment Minister/BKPM Head Rosan Roeslani in a press conference on Tuesday (July 29, 2025).

Other countries in the top 5 largest contributors of foreign investment are Hong Kong (FDI realization of US$4.6 billion), China (US$3.6 billion), Malaysia (US$1.7 billion), and Japan (US$1.6 billion).

Rosan stated that the government, through Danantara, recently signed a long-term funding cooperation agreement with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

"That is long-term funding that has been provided. We just signed this together with Danantara," he said.
