Indonesia and Australia have a trade and investment cooperation agreement.
This agreement is enshrined in the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA), which has been in effect since July 2020.
According to Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the IA-CEPA enhances Australia's access to the Indonesian market by eliminating or reducing trade tariffs and improving investor access.
"IA-CEPA provides Australian and Indonesian businesses an opportunity to expand and diversify this economic partnership," stated DFAT on its website.
