These Are the Investment Assets Owned by Indonesian People at the Beginning of 2025

According to a survey by the Indonesian Public Opinion Discussion and Study Group (KedaiKOPI), 73% of 900 respondents in Indonesia reported owning investment assets at the beginning of 2025.

Of this group, the majority (49.9%) held gold jewelry as an investment asset.

The next most popular investment assets were stocks (38.4% of respondents), followed by mutual funds (36.6%), gold bars (35.6%), and deposits (33.1%).

Investments in property, cryptocurrency, foreign exchange (forex), bonds, and valuable collectibles were held by a smaller proportion of respondents, as shown in the graph.

KedaiKOPI also surveyed respondents' long-term investment goals. The majority (75.6%) invested to secure retirement funds.

Others invested for financial freedom (66.2%), children's education (65.3%), and property needs (37.7%).

KedaiKOPI conducted this survey among 900 Indonesian respondents aged 17-55. Respondents comprised 51.1% women and 48.9% men.

Data collection was conducted from February 20 to March 2, 2025, using the Online-Computerized Assisted Self Interview (CASI) method.

Note that this survey used a multiple-answer system, allowing respondents to select more than one answer.
