The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reports that from January to October 2024, the realization of the health budget reached Rp147.1 trillion, equivalent to 78.4% of the allocation in the 2024 State Budget (APBN).
The realization of the health budget until October 2024 increased by 4.6% year-on-year (yoy).
"The increase compared to 2023 is mainly due to the acceleration of procurement of goods and services in the health sector," wrote Finance Minister Sri Mulyani on her official Instagram account on Thursday (November 21, 2024).
Based on its items, this budget was mostly allocated to recipients of National Health Insurance (JKN) contribution assistance (PBI).
Here is a breakdown of the realization of the health budget in the APBN for the January-October 2024 period:
* JKN PBI: Rp36.8 trillion for 96.7 million participants
* Health insurance: Rp9.3 trillion for approximately 4.6 million civil servants/military/police/pensioners/veterans per month
* Operational funding: Rp7.1 trillion for the operation of 10,072 community health centers (puskesmas)
* Family planning operational assistance: Rp2.7 trillion for 3,045 Family Planning Guidance Centers (Balai Penyuluh Keluarga Berencana)
* Immunization vaccines: Rp2.1 trillion for toddlers
* Provision of contraceptive devices/medicines: Rp517 billion for 19,166 institutions
* Examination of drug and food samples: Rp53 billion for the examination of 49,300 drug samples and 19,300 food samples
* Facilitation and development of the first 1000 days of life (HPK): Rp18.1 billion for 7,200 families with toddlers under two
* Supplementary food provision (buffer): Rp12.4 billion for 19,900 pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency (KEK) and 21,900 underweight toddlers
* Socialization and dissemination of tuberculosis control: Rp4.8 billion for 5,400 people
"The health budget plays a very strategic role in Indonesia's future to create the foundation for a healthy, productive, and competitive generation," wrote Sri Mulyani.
