This is the Ideal Regional Head Criteria According to West Java Residents

JakPat conducted a survey on the ideal criteria for regional heads, as perceived by West Java residents.

The results show that 61% of West Java respondents desire a leader who listens to the people's aspirations.

A significant number, 57%, believe the ideal leader should develop local MSMEs and tourism to create jobs.

Furthermore, 54% consider an ideal candidate to be someone capable of addressing social issues, ranging from traffic congestion and waste management to unemployment.

Other criteria include providing free healthcare for the general public (52%); environmental concern (46%); freedom of expression (46%); and creating more public spaces (38%).

West Java residents also desire a regional head who can involve young people in creating programs (34%); is young and close to the people (23%); and is a native of the region (20%).

This JakPat survey involved 1,478 respondents, comprising 50% men and 50% women. 40% of respondents were from Generation X, 36% from Millennials, and 24% from Generation Z.

Data collection was conducted from August 27th to September 3rd, 2024, through the JakPat application. The survey's margin of error is approximately 2.55% with a 95% confidence level, assuming random sampling.
