Food Prices Friday (22/8) in Indonesia: Rice Up, Onions Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency''s (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (August 22, 2025) at 09.07 AM WIB, out of 25 commodities, 4 commodities increased and 21 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices were mackerel, skipjack tuna, milkfish, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as frozen buffalo meat (imported), garlic bulbs, packaged cooking oil, large red chili, and red onions decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Premium rice surged the highest by Rp236 (1.47%) to Rp16,325 per kg. Meanwhile, red onion prices dropped the sharpest by Rp4,872 (9.74%) to Rp45,160 per kg.
