Most Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) admit to using internet-connected devices to run their businesses. In a survey by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), 42.7% of respondents used PCs/laptops with internet access to sell their goods. Meanwhile, 84% of respondents, as MSME actors, used their smartphones to run their businesses with the help of the internet.

Based on MSMEs using the internet, the majority, or 60.2%, use internet access to market products through social media. Meanwhile, the least used activity is sending short messages to customers. This activity was only carried out by 27.7% of respondents.

KIC conducted an MSME survey for the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas. The survey, which reached 206 respondents, took place from June 8-15.
