Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Red Chili, Sugar, and Beef Prices Rise

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to rise compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (August 29, 2025) at 11:20 AM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 16 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases were dry soybean seeds (imported), consumption sugar, skipjack tuna, medium rice, and SPHP rice.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as premium rice, red cayenne pepper, large red chili, mackerel, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Farmer-level corn commodity increased the most by Rp125 (1.75%) to Rp7,250 per kg. Meanwhile, red cayenne pepper prices decreased the most by Rp478 (1.36%) to Rp34,712 per kg.
