What was the 2019 Central Government Employee Spending Budget?

In the 2019 State Budget, the government allocated funds for employee expenses totaling Rp 381.56 trillion, or 23% of total central government spending. This employee expenditure increased by 11.41% from the 2018 outlook of Rp 342.48 trillion. This increase is related to the provision of Religious Holiday Allowances (THR), 13th-month salaries, and salary increases for Civil Servants (PNS), TNI/Polri, and pensioners.

For information, total central government spending this year is targeted at Rp 1,634.34 trillion. This amount consists of employee expenses of Rp 381.56 trillion, goods and services expenses of Rp 345.23 trillion, and capital expenditure of Rp 189.34 trillion. Furthermore, Rp 275.88 trillion is allocated for debt service payments, Rp 224.32 trillion for subsidies, and Rp 1.94 trillion for grants. In addition, central government spending is used for social assistance of Rp 102.06 trillion and other expenditures amounting to Rp 114 trillion.
