Household expenditure on sweet bread and other bread in the Thousand Islands Regency in 2023 amounted to Rp3,116.43 per capita per week. This figure is lower than the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp3,722.81 per capita per week.

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be grouped into two parts: food and non-food needs.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while expenditure on non-food items is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

According to BPS, this decrease in expenditure is due to the month-to-month inflation rate in this region, which fell by 7.85%. Meanwhile, economic growth in 2023 fell by 7.85%.

The five largest household expenditure items for food and beverages in the Thousand Islands Regency, in descending order, are bottled water (Rp6,358.56 per capita per week), instant noodles (Rp4,097.22 per capita per week), tempeh (Rp3,956.18 per capita per week), other bread (Rp3,116.43 per capita per week), and the lowest expenditure was on alcoholic beverages (Rp11.45 per capita per week).

According to a publication by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp1.45 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 10.11% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.31 million per capita per month.
