Indonesian Rupiah Weakens to Rp 15,473 per US Dollar (Monday, October 17, 2022)

As of 10:43 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was traded at Rp 15,473 per US dollar on Monday, October 17, 2022. This represents a 0.3% weakening compared to the previous day's closing rate of Rp 15,427 per US dollar. Today's trading of the rupiah exchange rate is expected to range from 15457.5 to 15487.5.

According to investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 1.45% in the past week. Compared to 30 days ago, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has weakened by 4.34%. Over the past year, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market reached a high of Rp 15,430 per US dollar.

The rupiah exchange rate in the spot market reached its lowest point of Rp 14,255 per US dollar on Thursday, February 17, 2022. The highest point this year was around Rp 15,473 per US dollar.

The current condition of the rupiah exchange rate is in line with most regional currencies, which are fluctuating against the US dollar.

This morning, according to Bank Indonesia's monitoring of several major currencies, the South Korean won strengthened by 2.02 points (-0.14%) to KRW 1,429.51 per US dollar, the Japanese yen strengthened by 0.1 point (-0.07%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0011 points (-0.08%), the euro weakened (+0.02%), and the Chinese yuan strengthened by 0.0029 points (-0.04%).
