Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Cooking Oil Up, Chilies Down (Tuesday, March 26, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be lower compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Tuesday (26/3/2024) at 14.25 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased in price and 11 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk cooking oil, shallots, simple packaged cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, and garlic cloves.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as mackerel, broiler chicken, milkfish, pure beef, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The highest price increase was seen in farmer-level corn, jumping Rp1,320 (22.37%) to Rp7,220 per kg. The lowest price decrease was observed in curly red chilies, dropping Rp2,300 (5.04%) to Rp43,300 per kg.

6. Shallots: Rp33,640 per kg (up 0.51%)
7. Mackerel: Rp31,430 per kg (down 0.32%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp29,250 per kg (down 0.37%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,360 per kg (down 0.47%)
