East Java Food Price Update Today: Chicken, Onion, and Sugar Prices Rise (Tuesday, January 9, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (9/1/2024) at 14:38 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, premium rice, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), pure beef, and dry soybean (import).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chili peppers, bulk wheat flour, milkfish, skipjack tuna, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili peppers experienced the highest price increase of Rp600 (1.18%) to Rp51,530 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of Indian mackerel experienced the lowest decrease of Rp700 (2.01%) to Rp34,140 per kg.
