Food Prices Friday (29/8) in West Sumatra: Chili and Rice Prices Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (29/8/2025) at 11:20 AM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases were SPHP rice, pure beef, curly red chili, mackerel, and large red chili.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, premium rice, Minyakita cooking oil, consumption salt, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Large red chili commodity increased the most by Rp5,834 (16.51%) to Rp41,167 per kg. Meanwhile, milkfish price dropped the most by Rp40,000 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.

4. Red Bird''s Eye Chili: Rp44,625 per kg (decreased 0.05%)
5. Shallots: Rp43,585 per kg (decreased 1.45%)
6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp43,463 per kg (increased 7.41%)
7. Large Red Chili: Rp41,167 per kg (increased 16.51%)
8. Curly Red Chili: Rp39,571 per kg (increased 7.09%)
9. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp36,213 per kg (increased 1.51%)
10. Garlic Bulb: Rp35,643 per kg (increased 1.01%)
11. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,907 per kg (increased 0.61%)
12. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,567 per liter (decreased 1.57%)
13. Consumption Sugar: Rp18,478 per kg (decreased 0.32%)
14. Minyakita Cooking Oil: Rp17,345 per liter (decreased 0.07%)
15. Premium Rice: Rp16,756 per kg (decreased 0.33%)
16. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp15,825 per liter (decreased 2.69%)
17. Consumption Salt: Rp15,196 per kg (decreased 0.48%)
18. Medium Rice: Rp14,501 per kg (decreased 1.81%)
