Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the number of poor urban and rural residents in Bengkulu is below the national average.
September 2024 statistics show that Bengkulu recorded 261,150 individuals, ranking 21st out of 34 provinces. This figure is lower than the previous semester's 281,360 individuals.
East Java ranks first with 3.89 million poor urban and rural residents. This figure is almost 95 times higher than the province with the lowest number.
Next are West Java, Central Java, and North Sumatra. North Kalimantan has the lowest number of poor urban and rural residents, with 41,110 individuals.
