Food Prices in East Java Tuesday (Sept 2): Salt Price Rises, Cayenne Pepper Drops

Prices of several food ingredients in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Quoting data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (9/2/2025) at 13.18 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 14 increased and 9 decreased.

Commodities with price increases are SPHP rice, broiler chicken meat, corn at farmer level, broiler chicken eggs, and consumption sugar.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, medium rice, red cayenne pepper, packaged wheat flour, and mackerel decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Corn at farmer level increased the most by Rp222 (3.84%) to Rp6,007 per kg. The price of red cayenne pepper decreased the most by Rp633 (2.62%) to Rp23,543 per kg.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp31,493 per kg (down 0.49%)
7. Garlic Bulb: Rp29,835 per kg (down 1.09%)
8. Curly Red Chili: Rp28,606 per kg (down 0.23%)
9. Large Red Chili: Rp27,302 per kg (up 0.13%)
10. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp26,111 per kg (up 0.08%)
11. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp23,543 per kg (down 2.62%)
12. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,917 per liter (up 0.1%)
