West Sumatra Food Prices, Monday (September 2nd): What's the Price of Fish?

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (2/9/2024) at 15.05 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), bulk wheat flour, dry soybean (import), curly red chilies, and farmer-level corn.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, simple packaged cooking oil, kembung fish, shallots, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase, up by Rp980 (6.25%) to Rp16,670 per kg. Simple packaged cooking oil experienced the sharpest price drop, down by Rp470 (2.65%) to Rp17,290 per liter.
