Food Prices in West Sumatra on Tuesday (Aug 19): Oil, Chicken, and Sugar Prices Decline

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) at 14:59 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 9 increased and 14 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include mackerel, skipjack tuna, premium rice, SPHP rice, and consumption salt.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour, broiler eggs, packaged cooking oil, Minyakita, and broiler chicken meat decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The large red chili commodity saw the highest surge, increasing by Rp2,306 (6.96%) to Rp35,417 per kg. Meanwhile, milkfish prices experienced the sharpest decline, dropping by Rp5,000 (11.11%) to Rp40,000 per kg.
