Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2020, the region's economic growth appears higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID growth was recorded at a decrease of 4.29%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 83,450, the GRDP per capita in this region was recorded at Rp278.16 million/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 15th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the economy in this regency, the mining and quarrying sector is the leading contributor.
The mining and quarrying sector in Natuna Regency in 2023 recorded a value of Rp16.35 trillion. This is the highest among the 17 sectors. This sector grew by -0.22% compared to the previous year's figure of Rp17.58 trillion.
Second is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, which grew by 3.98% to Rp3.01 trillion. The construction sector grew by 5.46% to Rp1.82 trillion.
Finally, rounding out the top five GRDP contributors in Natuna Regency is the public administration, defense, and compulsory social security sector, with a value of Rp432.02 billion. According to BPS, this sector grew by 0.73% over the past year from the previous achievement of Rp441.37 billion.
