Today's Food Prices (Jan 6) in West Sumatra: Red Chili and Onion Prices Drop

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Necessities Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Tuesday (Jan 6, 2026) at 3:51 PM WIB, out of 16 commodities, 2 commodities increased and 3 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices are broiler chicken meat and red onions.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as curly red chilies, Honan garlic, and red bird's eye chilies decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The red onion commodity surged the highest by Rp277 (0.73%) to Rp38,194 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies dropped the sharpest by Rp722 (1.38%) to Rp51,722 per kg.
