Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 722 hotspots across Indonesia. This represents an increase of 62 hotspots compared to the prior monitoring period.

Data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Saturday (27/6/2026) at 11.30 WIB. Of the 722 detected hotspots: 20 have high confidence level, 682 medium confidence, and 20 low confidence.

Hotspot confidence is categorised into 3 scales: 0–29 (low), 30–79 (medium), 80–100 (high). Higher confidence correlates with greater likelihood of active forest/land fires in the area.

East Kalimantan recorded the highest count at 94 hotspots, followed by East Nusa Tenggara (72), South Sumatra (60), West Kalimantan (53), South Sulawesi (51), South Kalimantan (46) and Central Sulawesi (44).

Hotspots are geographic coordinates showing above-average surface temperature; this value does not equal the number of active fire events. However, clustered, high-volume hotspot detections are the most reliable remote sensing indicator for large-scale forest and land fire monitoring.
