Rupiah Exchange Rate Strengthens to Rp 15,287 per US Dollar (Tuesday, October 4, 2022)

As of 10:43 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market is traded at Rp 15,287 per US dollar on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. This exchange rate strengthened by 0.1% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 15,303 per US dollar. Today's trading of the rupiah exchange rate is expected to move in the range of 15282.5 - 15312.5.

As shown on investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 1.07% in a week. Compared to 30 days ago, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has weakened by 2.64%.

However, for a one-year data range, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually experienced a decrease (strengthening). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,300 per US dollar.

For the January-October 2022 period, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market experienced a weakening trend, moving 3.02% compared to the condition a month ago, which was at Rp 14,840 per US dollar.

The current condition of the rupiah exchange rate is contrary to most regional currencies that are strengthening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won weakened by 0.53 points (+0.04%) to KRW 1,433.97 per US dollar, the Japanese yen weakened by 0.26 points (+0.18%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0017 points (-0.12%), the euro strengthened by 0.0015 points (-0.15%), and the Chinese yuan strengthened by 0.0177 points (-0.25%).
